Kenton Black are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor, in Edinburgh on a permanent basis. The client is an established house builder known for delivering excellent customer service and a high quality home.

In your new role as Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for preparing and managing subcontractor tender packages, negotiating contracts, and appointing successful candidates. You will conduct regular valuations based on project progress, ensuring financial targets are met whilst liaising with architects, clients, and subcontractors to monitor budgets and ensure project timelines are adhered to. Additional requirements will include conducting site visits to verify progress and resolve potential challenges. You will oversee payment certification and final account preparation whilst ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.

As minimum, you must have proven experience in quantity surveying within the residential or construction industry and possess a strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contract negotiation, and financial management. Ideally you will have a degree in Quantity Surveying and have at least 5 years of experience within house building commercial functions.
