We are excited to announce an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our client's team as a Shop Manager for their new Furniture Warehouse. This pivotal role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the furniture shop and team, ensuring the shop achieves its maximum trading potential.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage the overall operations of the furniture shop, ensuring effective performance and meeting sales targets.
- Foster good working relationships with the logistics company for efficient uplifts and deliveries, as well as with customers and the warehouse team.
- Ensure the shop is operated effectively, with a focus on maximizing sales and profitability while enhancing the awareness of the Hospice within the community.
- Oversee the pricing, display, and sale of furniture items, ensuring they are attractive and competitively priced.
- Manage part-time workers and volunteers, providing line management assistance and handling minor disciplinary/behavioural issues.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, particularly in manual handling and shop operations.
- Proven experience in retail management, preferably in furniture or charity sector retail.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a diverse team of volunteers and part-time workers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong relationships.
- Experience in cash handling and familiarity with Gift Aid processes.
- Competence in using electronic till systems and basic computer software.
- Ability to work weekends as required by the job demands.
