-Site Reliability Engineer - Outside IR35-Edinburgh with Remote-6 months Initial Contract-Immediate Start

My client are currently working along their journey to move from on-premise project work to a Cloud-based offering (AWS) and require a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer to provide hands-on technical skills and to support and improve the current digital platform.

Within the role, you will support deployment & migrations to RHEL / UNIX infrastructure as well as supporting deployments for the Ansible Automation Platform and observability stacks. A strong blend of container management, IAC principle knowledge and CI/CD pipeline build are essential skills, with experience of monitoring and observability also required to be a success in the role, as is a breadth of AWS services expertise.

You will also be experienced working in an Agile environment, be a keen collaborator and possess excellent stakeholder management. Candidates will be considered from a variety of backgrounds.

Skills and Experience Summary (A blend of);

  • Unix RHEL 7/8/9 System administration
  • Red Hat Satellite administration
  • Strong experience with container creation and management - Docker
  • RHEL OpenShift or within Kubernetes environment - system administration
  • Experience working with a CI/CD driven hybrid environment
  • Knowledge of IAC principles and continuous development
  • Pipeline configuration and deployment - Ansible Automation Platform
  • Experience with Monitoring and observability - Prometheus/Grafana/Cloudwatch
  • Experience of AWS Cloud based services
  • Configuration and deployment of common AWS services, VPC, EC2, S3, NLB
  • AWS automation - Terraform, CDK
  • Shell scripting, specifically Bash and Perl
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Keen collaborator
