About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our school. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional support needs, delivering tailored lessons and interventions that promote learning, independence, and wellbeing.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., BEd, PGDE) with experience or specialism in SEN.

  • Full registrationwith the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).

  • Experience teaching pupils with a variety of additional support needs (e.g., learning difficulties, ASD, ADHD, or social, emotional, and behavioural needs).

  • Strong understanding of Curriculum for Excellence and differentiated teaching strategies.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.

  • Commitment to inclusive practice and promoting participation from all learners.

Desirable

  • Specialist SEN qualifications (e.g., Additional Support Needs (ASN) endorsements).

  • Experience with Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) or coordinated support plans.

  • Knowledge of assistive technology and alternative communication methods.
