Field Service & Calibration Engineer (Commissioning)

Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 + Benefits
Location: UK-wide (Home-based with travel across the UK & Europe)

Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer or Calibration Specialist looking for a varied, hands-on role with international travel and technical challenge?
We’re seeking a skilled engineer to join a world-leading manufacturer of hydraulic test and motion simulation systems, supporting customers across the UK and Europe.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in mechanical, electrical or electro-hydraulic systems, who enjoys solving complex problems and working directly with customers on site.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform calibration, testing, and certification to ensure performance compliance.

  • Provide on-site service and commissioning for customer installations across the UK and Europe.

  • Diagnose and repair faults, carry out maintenance, and install replacement parts.

  • Support project teams during installations and act as the technical lead on customer sites.

  • Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships and deliver projects to a high standard and on time.

  • Ensure all calibration tools and equipment are properly maintained and compliant.

What You’ll Need
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in field service, calibration, or commissioning.

  • Background in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic engineering.

  • HND/Degree in Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Experience using diagnostic and calibration tools.

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety in on-site environments.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.

  • Good IT skills – MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

  • Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally abroad (approx. 10%).
