Your new company


You will be working in the role of Finance Assistant in a business operating in the heart of Elgin. This role offers an immediate start and an ongoing temporary contract and is office-based in Elgin. This role may be extended and could offer a permanent contract.


Your new role


The role of Finance Assistant will involve a variety of responsibilities, including processing high volumes of bank inputs, managing invoices from suppliers, handling customer calls, and taking card payments. In addition to these tasks, you'll be expected to support the finance team with day-to-day operations such as data entry, account reconciliations, maintaining financial records, and assisting with month-end processes. This role offers full-time hours, across Monday to Friday and is based centrally in Elgin.


What you'll need to succeed

Our clients are seeking someone who is not only confident with numbers but also highly proficient with IT systems. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial software is essential, as is the ability to quickly learn and adapt to bespoke systems. Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently are key to success in this role. Excellent communication skills are also important, as you'll be liaising with both internal colleagues and external customers. This role requires a team player with a positive, can-do attitude-someone who's happy to adapt and help out wherever needed.


What you'll get in return


This role offers an immediate start date, an ongoing temporary contract for at least 6 months and the potential to extend or move into a permanent position. You will be paid a competitive hourly rate based on your experience, equivalent to 28,000 - 30,000, and also accrue a holiday allowance. You will be paid weekly via Hays. In the office, you will work in a fast-paced, supportive environment and receive some on-the-job training to deliver the best results.
