A great opportunity has arisen for a project manager / estimator to join a well-established company with a strong track record in delivering high-quality commercial and residential joinery and fit-out projects across the UK and Europe.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This role combines project management with estimating responsibilities and requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates and quotations for site and contract work, including manufactured joinery when required.
- Manage 2-4 projects concurrently, acting as the primary point of contact for clients.
- Source and coordinate subcontractors for services such as flooring, plastering, and plumbing.
- Oversee all commercial aspects of projects, including the creation and management of accurate project programmes.
- Produce and issue detailed monthly progress reports to clients.
- Manage projects from initial enquiry through to handover and final accounts.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Develop and implement health and safety plans, ensuring all risk controls are in place.
- Communicate company policies and standards related to quality, health, safety, and the environment.
- Inspire and motivate project teams while maintaining effective communication.
Beneficial skills / qualifications:
- Proven experience managing joinery, shop-fitting, or commercial fit-out projects.
- Background in estimating both site works and factory-built joinery.
- Relevant qualifications in joinery, construction, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and meet deadlines.
- Calm under pressure with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn quickly.
- Knowledge of current health & safety and environmental legislation.
- Strong commercial and contractual management skills.
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
