Our client, a specialist in designing and delivering utility connections for electricity, gas, and water, is looking for a Utilities Administrator to support their growing team. As the Utilities Administrator you will provide vital administrative support to their fast-paced construction department. Key responsibilities for the Utilities Administrator: 

  • Create and maintain enquiry files for new projects
  • Keep internal systems and records up to date
  • Communicate effectively with clients, designers, and estimating engineers
  • Process and manage quote acceptances and product designs
  • Set up construction files, both digitally and in hard copy
  • Update monitoring logs for enquiries, faults, and minor works
  • Participate in enquiries, construction, and handover meetings
  • Handle Point of Connection (PoC) applications, follow-ups, processing, and acceptances with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs)
  • Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients, engineers, and stakeholders

Skills and experience required Utilities Administrator: 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Background in Utilities, DNOs, IDNOs, or ICPs is beneficial but not essential – full training provided
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Sage accounting software
  • Confident in composing professional emails and business correspondence
  • Excellent organisational skills and clear communication, both written and verbal
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively with strong attention to detail
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
  • Quick to learn, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
