About the RoleAn established engineering organisation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Test and Qualification team. This position involves both theoretical analysis and hands-on execution of product qualification plans. You will coordinate cross-functional engineering activities focused on systems verification and compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and manage technical requirements to create and execute qualification programme plans.
  • Take technical ownership of system verification matrices and related activities.
  • Develop, execute, and report on test plans, with occasional participation as a test subject when safe.
  • Examine similarities between products to determine if existing test evidence can qualify new products.
  • Conduct theoretical analysis using analytical methods and computational tools.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive team environment.
  • Promote and uphold a safety-first culture.
  • Engage in professional development through training, mentoring, and self-led learning.
  • Stay up to date on relevant technologies, regulations, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, with ability to validate and review work.
  • Experience in planning, executing, and reporting on product test/qualification activities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Analytical thinker able to interpret complex or conflicting data.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
  • Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience in verification, validation, and compliance.
  • Experience leading DFMEA and documenting outcomes.
  • Proficiency in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (SolidWorks) design tools.
  • Familiarity with efficient engineering processes and best practices.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Minimum 4-8 years of relevant engineering experience.
