Quantity Surveyor Assistant to Senior Consultant level Stanlow - minimum 4 days on site) Contract Inside IR35 Our client is a leading global property and construction consultancy. Their Quantity Surveyors lead on projects with a range of clients across complex and challenging sectors such as Nuclear, Defence and Clean Energy, allowing our team members to gain a well-rounded experience at a much quicker pace. In this role you will initially join our team that specialise in the delivery of cost and commercial management in the Oil & Gas sector. These programmes are some of the most technical and complex challenges facing the UK today, helping us leave a safer environment for future generations. Your day to day could sometimes involve: o Liaise with the client on a daily basis to ensure best in class service is provided o Operating with NEC form of Contract such as Option A, B, C and E as well as bespoke forms of contract. o Quantification Assurance to validate quantities submitted by contractors o Review Bill of Quantities to ensure they accurately reflect works o Price Benchmarking, utilising historical cost data and market knowledge to ensure prices are competitive and in line with industry standards o Measurement and Valuation of work based on agreed rates and contract specifications o Verifying payment applications submitted by contracts o Identifying, assessing, and advising on risks associated with the works, including health and safety and potential cost overruns o Ongoing cost monitoring, maintaining financial control, and preparing regular cost reports o Conducting site visits to verify the progress and quality of demolition work, ensuring compliance with contract requirements. o Dispute Resolution, handling any disputes or disagreements regarding the final account. However no two days are the same, we are a flexible team that support each other's projects as well as getting involved with wider business activities and we believe that variety is key to your development. Who were looking for o Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management, experience in the Oil & Gas / Nuclear / Civil engineering / Engineering (Including Service Contracting) sectors is desired but not essential. o Broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to Procurement, Supply Chain, Cost and Commercial Management - ideally both pre and post contract. o Experience of standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite, and Public Contract Regulations 2015 would be beneficial, and candidates personal and communication skills, ambition, drive and energy will be considered equally important to be successful. o Ideally HNC, HND or Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar / relevant discipline, or in some case applicants with an alternative background (e.g.: Engineering) may be considered. o Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable, and will be supported if not already attained.
