Storesperson – Stores Operative – Stores Leader
Salary: £38,500 - £42,000
Shift: Monday to Friday DAYS ONLY
Location: Desford
Madisons Engineering are looking for a highly motivated and organised Storesperson to join a forward thinking and leading manufacturing business near Leicester. The successful candidate will take on a crucial role with full responsibility and flexibility in managing the storage and distribution of materials, chemicals, ppe and equipment, ensuring smooth operations within the factory.
Part of the role, you will as included in taking on large projects in reshaping the stores area and making it your own to ensure proactive efficiencies which are cost affective as well as managing your own budget. You will be responsible for maintaining inventory and stock levels while keeping records as well as working with the teams to ensure delivery of materials arrive on time to support our engineering operations. Additionally, you will manage all your own administrative tasks to coordinate procurement and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
Skills required for the Storesperson:
- Conduct daily and end of month checks of fuel and chemical stock levels.
- Daily checks of PPE and other production-based consumables.
- Manage stock levels using CMMS systems.
- Carry out period stock checks of all spares and reorder in a timely manner.
- Supply goods/parts to all areas of the factory as required.
- Assist engineering teams in creating kits for planned maintenance tasks.
- Liaise between management and suppliers, to meet delivery deadlines and ensure best price is achieved.
- Health and safety checks.
- Control of stores spending against budgets
- Assist with the planning and organising parts around maintenance shutdown periods
- Well experienced on MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word
- A strong engineering background
- To have strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- To be proactive and solutions-oriented, with the ability to work independently
