Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Biomass company to recruit a Maintenance Coordinator for its site in Cambridgeshire.

The Maintenance Coordinator role comes with a starting salary of up to 65,000 + private medical + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Maintenance Coordinator role

As the Principal Process Manager you will:

  • Support the Maintenance Manager with business planning, operational cost control, shutdown planning, and forecasting.
  • Ensure the maintenance team achieves compliance with company standards and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare technical specifications for maintenance activities and projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work and maintenance activities.
  • Manage resources effectively to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Oversee planning and control of spares stock and procurement.
  • Prepare and present regular maintenance reports.
  • Provide clear communication internally and externally to align workforce and contractors with procedures.
  • Contribute to plant reliability by supporting preventative and corrective maintenance activities.


Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Time-served apprenticeship with a solid technical foundation in engineering or maintenance.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in power generation (or closely related heavy industry).
  • HNC (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • SHE qualification with practical experience ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office and Maintenance Management System software.

  • Detail-oriented and organised, able to manage multiple maintenance schedules, records, and reports accurately.
  • Strong communicator, capable of engaging with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Proactive and reliable, with the initiative to anticipate maintenance needs and drive continuous improvement.
