About the Role:Enfield Council is seeking an experienced Council Tax Officer to join its Revenues Collection Service team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing, customer-focused service that supports the effective collection of council tax across the borough.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately process and manage customer council tax accounts

Handle all aspects of council tax including:

Account set-up, maintenance, and review
-
Assessment of discounts, disregards, and exemptions
-
Payment arrangements
-
Pre- and post-court processes
-
Liaison with enforcement agents (bailiffs)

Provide excellent customer service, including effective engagement with vulnerable or challenging customers

Work in line with statutory regulations and corporate policies
-
Contribute to a collaborative team environment
Requirements:

Previous experience in council tax administration or local authority revenues services

Strong knowledge of council tax legislation and collection processes

Ability to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines

Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Competent in using relevant systems and software

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
