Council Tax OfficerEnfieldFull TimeTemporary Join a dynamic and customer-focused team in Enfield as a Council Tax Officer, where you will play a vital role in the delivery of high-quality financial assessment and collection services. THE ROLEAs a Council Tax Officer, you will be responsible for delivering effective and efficient income assessment and council tax collection services as part of Enfield Council's Assessment Hub.Key responsibilities include:
  • Handling the assessment and determination of income-related benefits and other reductions
  • Managing complex council tax collection and enforcement matters
  • Providing high-quality written and verbal customer service support
  • Responding to queries and guiding customers through assessment and collection procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records of all customer interactions and case updates
  • Working closely with other departments and external agencies to resolve issues
  • Supporting continuous service improvement and automation initiatives
THE CANDIDATETo be successful in this role, you must have previous experience working in a council tax, financial assessment, or similar local authority role.You should also possess:
  • A strong track record in delivering council tax collection or financial assessment services
  • Experience with income-related benefit claims and change of circumstances
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid IT proficiency and ability to use relevant financial systems
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
THE CONTRACTWORKING HOURS: Full Time, 35 HoursLENGTH OF CONTRACT: 3 Month Contract, Temp to PermRATE: The pay for the role is £23.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £19.74 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
