About the Role

As Deputy Head of Faculty Science, you'll support the strategic leadership of a passionate and expert team. You'll play a key role in driving achievement, developing curriculum planning, and mentoring staff to deliver consistently high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Faculty in leading the Science department across all key stages
  • Drive academic outcomes and help set high expectations for students and staff
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of an engaging, knowledge-rich science curriculum
  • Line manage and mentor teaching staff, supporting their ongoing development
  • Use data effectively to identify gaps and implement strategies for improvement
  • Champion subject-specific pedagogy and contribute to whole-school CPD
  • Lead on curriculum innovation, assessment practices, and interventions

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced and ambitious science teacher ready to take the next step into leadership or an existing middle leader seeking new challenges.

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in at least one science discipline (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
  • Proven experience of raising student achievement in science
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills
  • A passion for inclusive education and supporting young people to achieve their potential
