A passionate and knowledgeable Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology is required to join the dynamic and forward-thinking Science department of an Outstanding mixed school in Enfield, commencing in September. This permanent full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to cultivate a deep understanding and appreciation for the living world in students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16).
Responsibilities
- You will plan and deliver engaging Science lessons with a focus on Biology, igniting curiosity about the natural world and biological processes.
- The role involves expertly guiding students through diverse biological topics, from cell biology to ecosystems, following a stimulating and well-structured curriculum.
- You will cultivate a vibrant and inquiry-based learning environment, encouraging scientific investigation and critical thinking about biological issues.
- You will assess and monitor student progress in Science (Biology) with care, providing constructive feedback that fosters their scientific development.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Biology or Science with a strong Biology background is essential.
- Experience teaching engaging and effective Biology lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 is highly desirable.
- A deep and current understanding of biological principles, coupled with the ability to make the subject accessible and relevant, is expected.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside strong classroom management and the ability to manage practical experiments, are vital.
