As a Psychology Teacher, you will:

  • Develop and deliver an engaging Psychology curriculum that includes core areas such as cognitive, biological, and social psychology, as well as research methods and ethics.

  • Foster inquiry and critical thinking through interactive lessons, debates, and real-world case studies that make psychological concepts accessible and relevant.

  • Assess student understanding using a range of evaluative tools, including essays, experiments, presentations, and examinations, and provide timely, constructive feedback.

  • Support academic progression by identifying learning needs, differentiating content, and providing one-on-one mentorship where necessary.

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities such as Psychology clubs, guest speaker sessions, and trips.

  • Maintain high expectations for student conduct and academic performance, setting the standard for behaviour and scholarship.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the humanities and science departments to support cross-curricular learning and a whole-school approach to education.

This role is ideal for a Psychology Teacher who is excited to explore the real-life applications of theory while inspiring students to consider careers in healthcare, research, criminology, and beyond.

 

The Ideal Psychology Teacher Will Have:
  • A UK-recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

  • A strong academic background in Psychology or a related discipline

  • Previous experience teaching Psychology at Key Stage 4 and/or 5

  • A passion for student-centred teaching and curriculum innovation

  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
