Pay Rate: £15.19 per hour PAYE
Job Description:
REC Source is currently recruiting Grounds Maintenance Operatives / Drivers for a local authority parks and green spaces team in the Enfield area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are confident using power tools and operating small vehicles.
This role involves maintaining parks, green spaces, verges, and school grounds while ensuring health and safety compliance and providing courteous service to the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grounds maintenance tasks including:
- Hedge cutting, shrub pruning, strimming, mowing, weeding, and litter picking
- Operate small plant and garden tools:
- Petrol-powered strimmers, blowers, hedge cutters, etc.
- Drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (Cat B licence required)
- Conduct vehicle and equipment safety checks at the start of each shift
- Follow daily work schedules to ensure timely completion of assigned areas
- Liaise politely with team members and members of the public
- Support related services such as streetcare or parks operations as needed
Requirements:
- Valid UK manual Category B driving licence (essential)
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, or landscaping preferred
- Confidence using powered tools and small plant equipment
- Must be physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions
- Strong punctuality, communication, and teamwork skills
- Availability for immediate start following compliance checks
