Based in Enfield, this role covers the full Systems Engineering lifecycle from early concept work through to delivery and acceptance. You will work across multidisciplinary teams, support a range of radar-based products, and take part in occasional travel to customer or test sites. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position where clear communication and strong technical insight are essential.
Job Responsibilities
- Contribute to system design, integration and test.
- Support product development from concept through to in-service support.
- Produce accurate technical documentation, proposals and reports.
- Collaborate with software, mechanical and electrical engineering teams.
- Mentor junior colleagues and support multiple projects.
- Assist with verification, validation and external test activities.
Experience Required
Essential
- Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related field.
- Experience in systems design, integration and test.
- Good understanding of product lifecycles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- UK driving licence and eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
Desirable
- Knowledge of radar or radio systems.
- Experience with communication protocols such as RS485, RS232 or TCP IP.
- Familiarity with test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters and spectrum analysers.
- Understanding of defence standards, EMC or ESD environments.
- Experience leading small engineering packages.
- Membership of a professional engineering institution.
