Based in Enfield, this role covers the full Systems Engineering lifecycle from early concept work through to delivery and acceptance. You will work across multidisciplinary teams, support a range of radar-based products, and take part in occasional travel to customer or test sites. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position where clear communication and strong technical insight are essential.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to system design, integration and test.
  • Support product development from concept through to in-service support.
  • Produce accurate technical documentation, proposals and reports.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical and electrical engineering teams.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and support multiple projects.
  • Assist with verification, validation and external test activities.

Experience Required

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Experience in systems design, integration and test.
  • Good understanding of product lifecycles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • UK driving licence and eligibility for UK Security Clearance.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of radar or radio systems.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as RS485, RS232 or TCP IP.
  • Familiarity with test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters and spectrum analysers.
  • Understanding of defence standards, EMC or ESD environments.
  • Experience leading small engineering packages.
  • Membership of a professional engineering institution.
