Contract: Full-Time | Maternity Cover (2 terms or up to 1 year)

Remedy Education is working in partnership with a warm and inclusive primary school in Enfield to recruit a creative and dedicated Year 1 Teacher for a maternity cover position starting in September 2025.
This is a crucial phase in every child's development as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into more structured learning. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring this transition is smooth, engaging, and supportive of both academic and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
- Build on EYFS foundations with a strong focus on phonics, early maths, and social development
- Create a nurturing and well-managed classroom environment that supports positive behaviour and inclusion
- Use assessment effectively to monitor and support pupil progress
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider staff team
- Develop strong, professional relationships with parents and carers to support each child's learning journey
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching in KS1, especially in Year 1
- A solid understanding of child development and the Year 1 curriculum
- A nurturing, inclusive and creative approach to teaching
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- The ability to inspire curiosity and confidence in all learners
