SUMMARY
A dynamic and results driven innovative Independent School in Enfield are seeking to appoint an English Teacher to join them from September. This role is full time, term time and permanent. The post holder may be required to teach up to A Level/KS5.
THE ROLE
The principal is seeking a forward-thinking an English Teacher with the below qualities
Lesson Planning and Delivery: Creating and delivering engaging lessons that meet students' individual needs and learning styles.
Classroom Management: maintaining a positive and productive learning environment, addressing behavioural issues, and ensuring safety.
Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback on written and oral work, and tracking student records.
Teaching Foundational Skills: Teaching grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing proficiency, and effective communication skills.
Promoting Higher-Level Thinking: Encouraging critical thinking, analysis, and evaluation of texts.
Utilising Diverse Materials: Employing a variety of learning materials, including texts, audio-visual resources, and technology, to engage students.
Creating a Positive Learning Environment:
Fostering a classroom culture that encourages participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
Is a successful English department that focuses on creating a rich curriculum, employing imaginative teaching approaches, and developing students' literacy skills. It also emphasises clear communication, strong subject expertise, and a shared vision of excellence among staff. Led by a supportive Head of Department ensuring all students make good progress across reading, writing, and spoken language.
