A knowledgeable and engaging HistoryTeacher is required to join the dedicated Humanities department of an Outstanding girls' school in Enfield. This permanent full-time position, commencing in September, offers an exceptional opportunity to ignite a lifelong interest in history and develop critical thinking skills in students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16).

Responsibilities

• You will plan and deliver captivating History lessons that bring the past to life, fostering curiosity and a deep understanding of historical events and their significance.
• The role involves expertly guiding students through diverse historical periods and interpretations, following a well-structured and enriching curriculum.
• You will cultivate a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore historical sources, engage in thoughtful discussions, and develop their analytical skills.
• You will assess and monitor student progress with care, providing constructive feedback that encourages their historical understanding and academic growth.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in History is essential.
• Experience teaching engaging and effective History lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 is highly desirable.
• A deep and current understanding of British and world history, coupled with the ability to make the subject relevant and engaging for girls, is expected.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside strong classroom management and the ability to foster a positive learning culture, are vital.
