At Remedy we are looking for a high performing ASD Teaching Assistant to work at one of our leading secondary schools in South East London specialist TA who is dedicated to supporting pupils with autism within a secondary school. As an ASD Teaching Assistant will be assisting the classroom teacher with supervision over the students who suffer from, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting students with ASD.
  • Ability to show empathy, compassion and resilience
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • DBS (preferably on the update service)
