The Role

In this role you will be supporting 11-16 year old students who may display challenging behaviour. Many of the students have special educational needs such as Autism as well as SEMH. Alongside assistance in lessons and therapy sessions, students require support to manage their own emotions and de-escalate situations. The role will be for supporting their inclusion team with behaviour. The role will be mostly around managing the behaviour around the school, supporting breaks and getting pupils to lessons. They would attend 'on-calls' for when there is the need for extra behaviour support in a lesson or facilitating work with pupils in our reflection space - this could be either 1:2:1 or in small groups.

The school

The School is an SEMH School which caters for young people aged 11-18 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

All their students have a primary need within the area of SEMH and some students may have co-occurring needs in one or more of the following areas: communication and interaction; cognition and learning; sensory and/or physical needs.

Their core purpose is to improve the quality of life for their students and the wider community by nurturing potential.
