Brief description:
Teach and support students with ASD aged 5-16 in a specialist SEN setting.

About the school:
This is a dedicated SEN school in Enfield for children and young people with autism. The school provides a structured, supportive, and inclusive environment where students aged 5-16 are encouraged to develop academic, social, and life skills tailored to their individual needs.

About the role:
The SEN Teacher will deliver creative and differentiated lessons to students with ASD across different age groups. The role involves planning and adapting the curriculum, managing support staff, and working closely with therapists and parents. This is a temporary to permanent position with excellent opportunities for professional growth.

We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students with ASD
  • Differentiate teaching to meet a range of learning needs
  • Lead and manage teaching assistants effectively in class
  • Foster independence, communication, and social interaction
  • Work in partnership with families and external professionals

Requirements - The ideal candidate would have:

  • QTS or QTLS with experience in SEN, ideally ASD
  • Knowledge of strategies to support students with autism and communication needs
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Patience, resilience, and a creative approach to teaching
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
