Upholsterer Role



Overview

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team on a 3-month contract. The Upholsterer will be responsible for working on a variety of projects, from reupholstering seats to refurbishing office chairs. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, for a total of 40 hours per week.



Responsibilities

  • Reupholstering a range of seating, including chairs, sofas, and office furniture
  • Cutting patterns and fabrics to fit specific pieces and furniture
  • Repairing and refurbishing existing upholstery as needed
  • Ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail in all upholstery projects
  • Collaborating with team members to meet project deadlines and client requirements
  • Adhering to safety protocols and best practices in upholstery techniques


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Upholsterer or similar role
  • Proficiency in cutting patterns and working with various fabrics
  • Knowledge of different upholstery materials and their best uses
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting and manoeuvring furniture


Day-to-day

  • Reviewing project requirements and materials needed
  • Measuring, cutting, and fitting upholstery materials
  • Communicating with team members and supervisors to coordinate work flow
  • Performing upholstery work on a variety of furniture pieces
  • Ensuring a clean and organised work space
  • Following safety procedures and guidelines to prevent workplace accidents
