Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Bath - BA2 - Bath and North East Somerset
Are you a teaching assistant with a passion for teaching art and design? Are you looking for ongoing, full time work?
HLTA required at a secondary PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils who have a range of learning and behavioural needs. The school has a strong reputation in the local community and a proven track record of helping students to get back on track with their learning and development, catering for children and young adults who have been excluded from mainstream education or are in a transition period before finding a place in a specialist setting.

- 130 per day
- Full-time, Monday - Friday 8.30am to 3pm
- Term time only plus 5 inset days
- Bath - BA2 - free parking on site or easily accessible by public transport
About the Higher Level Teaching Assistant role
- Deliver pre-planned art and design lessons, in the absence of the regular teacher
- Providing learning support to KS3 and KS4 students who struggle with learning, social, or emotional barriers and helping them to rediscover their love for education.
- 1:1 assistance for pupils with Special Needs and challenging behaviour
- Working alongside fully trained therapists and psychologists as well as other professionals within the education/mental health field.
What we look for in a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- Hold HLTA status or have extensive previous teaching assistance experience
- Be capable of delivering learning activities for individuals, smalls groups or the class as a whole.
- Experience of strong behaviour management within the classroom
- A passion for working with children, particularly those with special educational needs
