Management Accounts Assistant
Location: Epsom£Competitive Salary
Cast UK are working in partnership with Bunzl Catering Supplies, the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the hospitality and catering, public sector, education, and healthcare. The business is witnessing continued growth across their operations by the successful attraction of new customers and the development of existing accounts.
The successful Management Accounts Assistant will play an important part in analysing and providing commercial insights across the business, partnering the Sales team and liaising with Suppliers to ensure effective pricing, control of rebates, and maintaining suitable cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
- To calculate and maintain accurate discount accruals.
- To calculate and prepare discount payments monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Liaise with sales team and customers regarding discounts and provide ad hoc assistance for matters arising in relation to rebates.
- Prepare monthly discount and customer balance sheet reconciliations.
- Save down and review rebate elements of Customer Contracts & Heads of Terms
- Authorise and assist Credit Control with coding for settlement discounts and rebates deducted from payment.
- Assist in the annual audit for all discount related queries.
- Prepare monthly supplier balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with processing supplier rebate credit notes with Shared Services.
- Liaise with Purchasing to ensure all supplier shipthrough rebates are processed in a timely manner so as not to have a negative working capital impact.
- Liaise with Head of Purchasing to ensure all volume rebates are collected.
- Assist in the annual audit for supplier rebate queries where required.
- To assist with ad hoc requests when required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience e.g. AAT.
- Strong commercial acumen with and ability to relay finance information to non-finance decision makers
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive commercial decision-making.
- Strong analytical skills and adaptability.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
