QA Technician

Location: Erith, Kent
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm (40 hours per week)
Salary: £27,000 per annum (£12.50 per hour)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

An established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking a QA Technician to join its technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with quality assurance experience in food manufacturing who is keen to develop their skills and progress within a supportive, fast-growing organisation.

The business operates multiple production sites and supplies high-profile UK retailers, working to the highest food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management and maintenance of the site HACCP system

  • Development and implementation of food safety and quality systems in line with BRC Global Standards and SALSA

  • Support New Product Development (NPD), including ingredient sourcing and product trials

  • Review and control of product labelling and factory documentation

  • Coordination of external calibrations and supplier approvals

  • Management of laboratory testing (microbiological, chemical, allergenic)

  • Supporting pest control inspections

  • Carrying out daily and weekly internal audits, including hygiene, glass, and hard plastic audits

  • Quality control of raw materials and finished products

  • Conducting organoleptic and quality testing

  • Handling customer complaints, investigations, and root cause analysis

  • Communicating effectively with customers and suppliers

  • Supporting general QA and technical tasks as required

Person Specification

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous QA experience within a food manufacturing environment

  • A good working knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards

  • Understanding of BRC Global Standards (desirable)
