They are now looking for a personable, motivated and detail-oriented Junior Purchasing Officer to join their busy procurement team based in Erith.
About the Role:
As a Junior Purchasing Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the purchasing process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely availability of quality materials and goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery terms
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders and supplier contracts
- Support the evaluation of supplier performance
- Monitor stock levels and help prevent shortages or overstocking
- Analyse market trends to assist in purchasing decisions
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet business requirements
- Help resolve order discrepancies, delivery issues, or quality concerns
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance
About You:
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient with procurement or ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Highly organised with excellent problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of supply chain principles and market trends
- Professional and courteous approach
- Willingness to undertake further training and development
- Ideally holds (or is working towards) a CIPS Diploma or has relevant business experience
- Understanding of supplier relationship management and contract law would be advantageous
