Food Technologist - Evesham

Salary: 45,000 per annum
Working Days: Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Food Technologist looking for your next challenge? We're seeking a passionate and driven professional to join our technical team in Evesham. This is an exciting opportunity to work with high-quality fresh produce, collaborating closely with suppliers, procurement teams, and major retailers to ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the sourcing of new suppliers in collaboration with the procurement team, ensuring all produce meets quality and food safety standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with customer technologists and buyers.
• Monitor and document due diligence through Food Experts, Sedex, BRCGS, and customer systems.
• Conduct risk assessments across the supply base.
• Investigate and follow up on customer complaints, implementing corrective actions with suppliers.
• Lead new projects and product development in fruit categories, including packing and packaging innovations.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to make quality-focused decisions that ensure the best supply.
• Organise and manage technical customer visits to suppliers.
• Conduct technical audits at the Evesham site and throughout the supply base.
• Stay informed and compliant with legal and environmental changes impacting the business.
• Deputise for colleagues and make confident, timely quality decisions when required.
• Remain up to date with evolving supermarket and end-user requirements.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a technical or quality-focused role within the fresh produce or food manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of food safety standards, supplier management, and retailer expectations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work proactively, make confident decisions, and manage multiple priorities.
