WELDER/FABRICATOR

  • Until end of 2025: Alcester

About my Client:

My client specialise in the design, build and installation of bespoke factory automation systems and machinery, control systems, vision inspection, plastic container handling and robotics. My client is a business unit responsible for the internal supply of bespoke metal fabricated components and parts.

The role:

They’ve invested heavily in their new metal fabrication unit which includes 3.2m x 125T press brake, 3kW fiber laser and welding bays. You’ll join a small team of colleagues, charged with running and manufacturing the production of parts. They’re looking for someone to provide additional support for the metal fabrication side of the business, this will include welding (both MIG & TIG) along with operating and running a brake press. There will also be the opportunity to develop your skills further and learn how to operate and run our CNC’s & Laser, should this be of interest to the successful applicant. The more open you are to upskilling, and having a flexible, positive outlook, the more interested my client will be in you.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated - able to think/plan for themselves, tenacious, punctual, and able to manage their own time effectively.

Flexibility, pulling your weight, having your own high standards and a can-do attitude are a must in order to fit in and become an integral part of their team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Being the key person for safe, yet efficient running of a brake press
  • Being the key person for welding
  • Delivering everything you touch to the highest possible standards
  • Interpreting technical drawings/documents
  • Have the confidence to ask questions, make suggestions
  • Advising on the right processes and using your experience to recommend the best suppliers 
  • Ensure operations conform with the company’s health and safety standards
  • Ensuring you consistently and accurately log projects with timesheet reporting
  • Completing necessary admin tasks in sync with production


To be a master in your role, you ideally will:

  • have sound experience of fab shop environments and processes
  • be fully competent welder and fabricator
  • be experienced user of brake press
  • be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • have good emotional intelligence! Friendly AND hard working
  • have the desire to learn and improve yourself
  • know when to escalate
  • have a positive outlook
  • be fluent in English (second language is always a plus)
  • have a ‘can do’ attitude (they are a small but growing team – they don’t have room for divas!)
  • have good communication skills

Remuneration/benefits:

£13-£16 p/h (depending on experience)
Potential for overtime during busy periods at 1.5x
