Our client is seeking an exceptional Financial Accountant to join their team in a permanent, full-time capacity. This opportunity would suit candidates looking to make their first move from Practice and into a more commercial, analytical, and data-driven positions. It would also suit a Financial Accountant who does already possess industry experience. The company offers hybrid working and a strong benefits package.

As Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive financial accounting services while maintaining robust systems and ensuring full compliance. This position goes beyond routine reporting, it will demand a naturally analytical and inquisitive mindset, someone who enjoys digging into the detail, identifying patterns, questioning anomalies, and getting to the "why" behind the numbers. A solid foundation in audit or accounts preparation is essential, along with full qualification (or nearing completion), but just as important is your ability to think critically, solve problems, and proactively uncover insights that inform better financial decisions.

The responsibilities:

  • Ensure general ledger accuracy through meticulous review of postings and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Lead and execute month-end financial procedures, working in tandem with Assistant Accountants.
  • Spearhead the preparation of year-end audit documentation and support the creation of statutory accounts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of year-end tax computations.
  • Mentor and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering their growth and expertise.
  • Collaborate with senior management to enhance and refine the internal control framework.
  • Design and implement departmental KPIs, driving continuous improvement through data-driven insights.

The candidate:

  • ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualified with demonstratable experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comprehensive understanding of IFRS reporting standards.
  • Adaptable professional capable of driving process improvements in dynamic environments
  • Strong leadership and collaborative skills with ability to work independently
  • Meticulous, proactive approach to managing complex financial responsibilities
