A great new opportunity to join a Water sector specialist as they embark on a 5-year framework with South West Water. My client, a national contractor with a company turnover in excess of 200 million, requires a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead a portfolio of projects through the design phase. You will be responsible for ensuring the buildability and value engineering of projects. You will be required to attend occasional meetings across the South West and to our clients Head Office.
As Senior Design Engineer (Civil) you will:
- Produce cost-effective design layouts which meet specification requirements and can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
- Ensure co-ordination of designs with all internal and external parties to ensure that the design processes are carried out and co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
- Monitor, review and develop procedures and processes.
Our client requires a Senior Design Engineer (Civil) with:
- HND/Degree in an engineering related discipline.
- Extensive experience working in a multi-disciplinary design environment.
- Experience of working on major projects within the Water sector, involving both Civil and M&E aspects.
- Experience managing/mentoring members of staff in design relevant disciplines.
- Membership of a professional institution (chartered or nearing chartership).
- The ability to rationalise designs and produce cost effective plant layouts.
Salary and benefits include:
- 45,000 - 55,000 per annum.
- Car or 5,500 car allowance.
- 25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays)
- Option to buy a further 5 days annual leave
