JWR is recruiting a Junior Sous Chef for a busy, quality-focused kitchen in Exeter.

The Role
As Junior Sous Chef, you'll support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping lead service, maintain high standards, and develop the junior brigade.
You'll be hands-on during service and play a key role in prep, organisation, and team training.
Fresh pizza / dough experience is highly desirable, with a passion for working with quality ingredients and producing food to a consistently high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
  • Lead sections during service and ensure smooth execution
  • Prepare fresh dough and pizza bases to specification
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Support training and development of junior chefs
  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are met

Requirements

  • Experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
  • Fresh pizza / dough experience preferred
  • Passionate about quality food and well-run kitchens
  • Calm, organised, and reliable under pressure
  • A positive team player with strong work ethic
