An opportunity is available for a Civil Engineering Specialist that willbe responsible for managing civil construction and maintenance projects associated with Primary & Grid substation replacement works on the 11kV, 33kV and 132kV network.

You will manage a portfolio of projects in and around the South West to include Cornwall, Exeter, Plymouth and Taunton.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provision of specialist civil services to own and other teams on multiple construction projects up to 132kV
  • Organisation and financial monitoring of individual tasks. Which includes helping define scope, aiding the design team in production of drawings, preparing tenders, letting contracts, financial monitoring, on-site supervision and physical delivery of all schemes to specific timescales and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance to specifications and Quality Assurance
  • Undertake civil maintenance on non-operational and operational sites
  • Liaise with other specialists within the Company.
  • Keep up to date with civil developments.

Skills & Experience

  • HNC Qualificationin Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or Building Surveying along with Health & Safety qualifications, preferably NEBOSH / IOSH / SMSTS.
  • You must be able to demonstrate experience in contractor management/quality management, knowledge of planning regulations/permitted development rights and project management managing to time, cost and quality.
  • You will have the ability to write specifications for various construction & civils projects, scope of works, construction details and have CDM knowledge and experience.
