The Role

As a Ground Investigation Engineer, you'll be responsible for planning, supervising, and reporting on ground investigations. The role combines both fieldwork and office-based tasks, giving you a well-rounded experience in geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Supervise site investigations (drilling, trial pitting, sampling, in-situ testing).

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and colleagues to keep projects running smoothly.

  • Ensure safety and quality on site through risk assessments and method statements.

  • Analyse and interpret field and laboratory data.

  • Produce high-quality factual and interpretative reports.



What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related Earth Science subject.

  • Experience in ground investigation or site supervision (graduate-level candidates with relevant placements will also be considered).

  • Strong understanding of geotechnical and geo-environmental techniques.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
