Boden Group and Boden Fire and Security deliver facilities maintenance services to the Ministry of Defence at multiple sites in the South West and South East, as well as maintenance and project work in the Commercial sector.
To support our business development an opportunity has arisen for both a Fire and Security Engineer and an Electrician based within our Fire and Security division.
Starting salary is dependant on experience and qualifications with an earning potential upwards of �45,000-�50,000 with on call and overtime.
The successful engineer will be responsible for the service and maintenance of Fire and Security products, whilst delivering the exceptional customer service expected of the Boden team.
The role will suit a flexible engineer who can travel throughout the South West/East and may be required to stay away from home on the odd occasion.
Main Duties you will be performing:
- Service and maintenance of Fire, Intruder, CCTV and Access Control systems
- Completion of daily work sheets and test certificates
- Able to work unsupervised and perform effectively as part of a small team
- Keep clear and concise written records for use by others
- Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times
- Work out of hours as part of an on-call rota
Required Skills and Abilities:
Essential:
- Knowledge of relevant standards such as BS 5839-1 and PD 6662 etc.
- Experience of both conventional and addressable Fire Alarm and Detection equipment
- Focused, motivated and enthusiastic
- Capable of completing all own paperwork in a clear, accurate and concise manner and computer literate
Desirable:
- Experience of various intruder, CCTV and Access Control equipment
- Previous knowledge and experience of MOD contracts
Required Qualifications:
Essential:
- Recognised experience within the Fire and Security sector
- Up to date knowledge of latest legislation
- Full valid UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- FIA Training
- Electrical Qualifications (C&G/NVQ in an Electrical Discipline, 18th Edition etc)
- IPAF
- PASMA
The successful candidate will be collaborative, honest, open and respectful. We are looking for a responsible, focused and motivated individual, with high organisational skills. You must be able to gain and retain MoD Security clearance and you should hold a full valid UK driving licence.
