Our client is currently seeking a Highways Operative to support the delivery of drainage and vegetation maintenance works across East and Mid Devon. This is a hands-on role requiring practical skills, teamwork, and a strong understanding of highways operations.

Key Responsibilities:
聽
路Carry out cyclical highways maintenance tasks including drainage cleansing and vegetation control.
路Maintain highway drainage ditches and easements to a high standard.
路Use strimmer's and hedge cutters to clear vegetation and ensure access to work areas.
路Accurately locate underground services before mechanical excavation begins.
路Deploy Chapter 8 compliant road signage for safe working environments.
路Drive company vehicles (up to 3.5t), ensuring all safety checks are completed.
路Operate small plant and equipment efficiently and safely.
路Record work completed using a tablet or digital system.
路Work as part of a team following a scheduled annual maintenance programme.
Essential Requirements:

路Valid CSCS card
路12D T1/T2 Traffic Management qualification
路Category C / Class 2 (Cat C) driving licence
Desirable Skills:
聽
路Experience with small plant and vegetation clearance
路Good awareness of health & safety standards
路Previous highways or drainage maintenance experience
