Job Title: Construction Project Planner (Site-Based)

Our Client: Our client is a leading international construction and development company, renowned for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors. They are committed to excellence, innovation, and sustainability, and are now looking for a talented and dedicated Construction Project Manager to join their dynamic team.

Project Details: The West Park Student Accommodation project at the University of Exeter is a comprehensive redevelopment of land, valued at approximately £250 million. The project involves the construction of seven buildings, including:

  • Four high-rise, high-risk buildings
  • Two low-rise buildings
  • One refurbishment of the existing Birks Grange building, which will be demolished and transformed into a low-rise structure

This site-based role spans approximately three years on-site, plus the PCSA stage. Residential experience is essential, and prior experience with student accommodation projects is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning and scheduling to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Oversee the coordination of construction activities and monitor progress.
  • Manage project budgets and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Foster strong client relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on project progress.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager, ideally in large-scale projects, with a preference for residential or student accommodation experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
