Multi Skilled Technician

I am working with a regional house builder to recruit an experienced Customer Care / Multi-Skilled Technician to join their team, delivering aftercare & defect management on new build housing developments across Devon, Cornwall & Somerset.

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you will carry out all maintenance and repairs to new build housing, ensuring the very best care and service is provided to new home owners throughout their aftercare period.

Key responsibilities:

  • Taking direction from the Customer Care Manager, ensuring all appointments are attended on time.
  • Ensure the property is adequately protected before commencement of works, including PPE and overshoes. Take relevant photographs confirming protection, before and after works and reporting on completion of works via email.
  • Review your diary and ensure that workload is allocated appropriately, ensuring works can be completed right first time in the time allowed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • As and when required carry out inspections of reported defects and issue a full report with photographs.
  • Report any repetitive defects on active and non-active sites to the Customer Care Manager to discuss with the Commercial/Technical Director
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is followed, and site regulations are adhered to.

To be successful in the role, we are looking for:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction, housebuilding & trades e.g. Painting, Decorating, Plastering, Carpentry and Joinery
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with customers in a friendly and professional manner,
  • Able to work as part of a small team with established processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise work and take initiative.
  • Works well under pressure/in a fast-moving environment.
  • Driving license.
  • Must be willing to travel to sites across Devon, Cornwall & Somerset.
