My client, is on a journey to become a data driven, agile insurance company. A progressive organisation that are developing a new Enterprise Data Model to provide better data integrity, improve the current reporting system and incorporate analysis and data science methods to solve business problems.

  • Collaborate closely with the Data Team Manager and Data Architect to ensure alignment with the overall data strategy and enterprise data model development. Work with business users to define reporting requirements for the Enterprise Data Warehouse and quality assure new data needed for reporting.
  • The data security of MI outputs, specifically access control and adherence to GDPR.
  • Managing risk within the company by ensuring that agreed procedures and protocols are adhered to.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Team Manager and Data Architect to ensure alignment with the overall data strategy and enterprise data model development
  • Supporting and sometimes leading our data reporting capability by developing and delivering a suite of standard reports and dashboards using data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the monthly management information (linked to Key Performance Indicators) is prepared to agreed format and timetable. Work closely with Data Analysts to ensure consistency and accuracy in monthly management information.
  • Lead and provide ad-hoc analysis and data on business information as required, by taking a broad perspective, to independently resolve complex problems, which do not have routine solutions.
  • Mentor Data Analysts in developing their analytical skills and understanding complex business problems. Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback, ensuring that analysis meets business needs.
  • Develop and expand the company’s Management Information in accordance with company requirements. Continuously review and improve MI reporting procedures to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure MI reporting procedures are kept up to date and reflective of current activities, risks, and controls.
  • Work collaboratively with the Data Team Manager and Data Architect to ensure MI reporting aligns with the enterprise data model and overall data strategy.
  • Build clean and accurate datasets to ensure optimal results when used for data science. Identify any inaccuracies or data issues that need to be considered. Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the integrity of datasets used for reporting and analysis.
  • Lead the testing of the new reporting system to support the building of the new data model and to help improve reporting accuracy. Collaborate with the Data Architect to ensure seamless integration of the new reporting system with existing data infrastructure.
  • Enhance Data visualisation in PBI by developing dashboards to include specific business analytics as required to meet the needs of the business. Develop advanced Power BI dashboards that provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • To assist in the training of new team members sharing domain knowledge and expertise to ensure essential procedures are followed. Develop and deliver training programs for Data Analysts to enhance their technical skills and understanding of data processes.
  • Share data insights with relevant stakeholders and gather feedback to help improve understanding of data usage and identify areas where MI and analysis could add value. Establish a feedback loop with stakeholders to continuously improve data insights and reporting capabilities.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Advanced user in Microsoft Office
  • Experience of report writing.
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience with SQL and data models.
  • Experience of data interrogation and analysis
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Familiarity with data science techniques and tools (e.g., Python, R) to support data science projects

Desirable

  • Experience of analysing data within a financial services environment.
  • Experience of SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, Snowflake.
  • Experience of working with CRM
