Job Purpose / Overview

  • Arranging appointments for our Metering Operatives to quickly and safely fix faults, in order for our Customers to get accurate bills and insights from their meter
  • Putting our staff and Customer safety at the front of everything you do, by carefully assessing site requirements so that our operatives are appropriately equipped, and Customers appropriately informed
  • Share learning with colleagues to constantly upskill each other in improving the rate of successful outcomes
  • Helping to define and document work instructions with Process Experts
  • Proactively feedback improvement ideas to the Team Manager and Process Expert where you see opportunities to enhance safety or productivity
  • Organise & prioritise own workload in line with team priorities; ensure effective time management & use of action planning to deliver requirements on schedule



To succeed you will need

  • To be Able to grasp new ideas and learn complex processes and systems, always with a genuine desire to deliver a great Customer Experience
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to empathise and troubleshoot
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and on your own initiative
  • Familiar with common IT tools such as MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and confident with telephone and email communication with customers
  • An understanding of the energy supply industry is desirable, but not necessary

The Metering Operations team within the Core Services & Metering area, provide a shared service for the EBS Supplier and Meter Operator (MOP) Customer portfolios. We are responsible for various Supplier regulatory obligations relating to Settlements, Smart Meter adoption, and other industry SLAs. We also deliver the Metering CX, which includes registering, billing, collecting, query management and fault resolution of the MOP portfolio.
