Accounts Manager

We’re seeking an Accounts Manager to join a growing accountancy practice in Exeter with a reputation for providing delivering exceptional client service. This is a rare opportunity to not only work for a highly regarded firm but to also acquire equity and lead the business in the future. The owner is seeking a hands-on accounting professional who would be interested in acquiring equity in the business, whilst continuing to deliver a first class service to clients.

Accounts Manager - What You’ll Be Doing:

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a small team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
• Review and ensure the accuracy and compliance of all financial reporting in line with UK accounting standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering strategic advice to support their business growth.
• Assist with business development and support the firm’s growth by identifying new opportunities.
• Manage client expectations, ensuring deadlines are met, and high standards of service are consistently maintained.

Accounts Manager - What We’re Looking For:

• ACA or ACCA qualified with recent accounts and tax experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a small team.
• A solid understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
• A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A passion for professional growth, learning, and delivering exceptional service.
• A serious interest in acquiring equity and leading the business.

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000pa depending on experience + benefitsHours: Mon - Fri 37.5 hoursLocation: Exeter, in office
