Senior Finance ManagerDevon£60,000-£70,000 per annum

Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the management accounting team, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely financial operations in support of wider business activities. This is a pivotal role reporting to the Finance Director, with responsibility for maintaining the integrity of accounting records, optimising team performance, and driving continuous improvement across finance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of group accounting and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and policies
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a team of finance professionals, ensuring effective performance management, cross-skilling, and succession planning
  • Optimise workload balancing and standardise processes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and quality of outputs
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, utilising lean methodologies to streamline financial processes and eliminate inefficiencies
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of month-end, recurring, and ad hoc financial reports to support planning, analysis, and business partnering activities
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team to implement corporate accounting policies and support audit processes
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards
  • Support the annual and ad hoc audit processes, acting as a key point of contact for auditors

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Proven experience managing a finance or management accounting team
  • Strong organisational skills with a track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to present financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence others
