This is an ideal opportunity to join my client, an innovative, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy known for lending their expertise to projects across the Engineering and Environmental landscapes. They are searching for an experienced, capable Senior Hydraulic Modeller who is willing to take on a challenging array of projects across a variety of sectors, based in the scenic, diverse city of Exeter.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:

  • Supervising a high-performing team in the delivery of a variety of projects
  • Producing hydraulic models and surveys
  • Checking other colleagues' work
  • Analysing and interpreting data using a variety of software systems, to prepare/check/publish reports
  • Supervising preparation of plans utilising MapInfo
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Attending site visits and other meetings on behalf of the company
  • Managing projects and people
  • Adhering to industry standards, regulations, and the appropriate health and safety measures at all times

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:

  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Science (or a similar, relevant discipline)
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK consultancy (or Local Authority) setting
  • Extensive experience of wastewater modelling
  • Proficient in the use of InfoWorks ICM (1D and 2D), and other relevant software packages
  • Experience of liaising closely with a variety of clients and stakeholders
  • Full, valid UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:

  • Hold Chartered Status, or actively working to attain this
  • Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region
  • Working knowledge of a range of other software systems used within the flood risk, drainage, and hydrology sectors
