When someone’s laptop crashes mid-presentation or a user can't connect to the network — you're the one who steps in, sorts it, and keeps things moving.
This is your chance to be the go-to support for a busy Service Desk team in Exeter. It’s a 3-month fixed-term contract, but with potential to be extended — and if you love solving problems, helping people, and getting stuck into hands-on IT support, this is right up your street.

What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as the first point of contact for all incoming IT support requests
- Logging, prioritising, and resolving technical issues across hardware, software, and networks
- Escalating more complex issues to 2nd Line when needed - but owning what you can
- Helping new starters get set up with equipment, accounts, and access
- Troubleshooting Windows, Microsoft 365, and basic network/connectivity issues
- Keeping users informed and making sure they feel supported every step of the way
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Experience in a 1st Line or IT Support role (you’ll need to hit the ground running)
- Great communication skills - you can explain tech to non-techies without the jargon
- A proactive mindset - you don’t wait to be told, you just get stuck in
- Solid knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, user admin, and general troubleshooting
- Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts
- Ideally, experience working in a fast-paced service desk or IT support environment
This is an initial 3-month fixed term contract.
