Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Exeter
Salary: 30,000 to 42,000 + package
Our client, a leading infrastructure contractor, is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Exeter, supporting the delivery of a major Capital Delivery Framework for a key water supplier.
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of a portfolio of projects across the water network. These projects include a range of capital works focused on maintaining and upgrading critical infrastructure across the region.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
- Support subcontractor procurement, measurement, and payment processes
- Monitor project costs and support financial reporting
- Work with delivery teams to ensure commercial procedures are followed
- Help manage risk and ensure contractual compliance across projects
Assistant Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need:
- At least 12 months experience in a similar role within construction or infrastructure
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Good understanding of NEC contracts (desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Eagerness to learn and develop under the guidance of experienced commercial professional
