Academics is working with a warm and supportive specialist school in the Torbay area. The school caters to learners aged 4 to 18 who face barriers to learning, including SEMH, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and communication difficulties.

This setting places learner wellbeing at its heart, promoting self-confidence, belonging, and development in a nurturing environment that extends beyond the traditional curriculum.

About the role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Promote emotional regulation, engagement, and positive social development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals
  • Role available immediately, with a commitment through to July 2025

We're looking for:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs (e.g., PRUs, youth work, therapeutic settings)
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
  • A calm, consistent, and positive role model
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
