Architectural Technician

Location: Exeter

Salary: £25-35,000 DOE

A well-established property and design practice with deep roots in the South West is seeking a Graduate to Intermediate Architectural Technician to join its growing architecture team at the Exeter head office. Specialising in small-to-medium scale residential projects, the team works on everything from bespoke new builds to conversions and extensions, offering integrated design and planning services from concept through to completion.

Daily Duties

  • Produce detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD for various project stages
  • Assist with feasibility studies, site surveys, and design development
  • Prepare documentation for planning applications and building regulations
  • Collaborate with in-house planning and development specialists
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to coordinate project delivery
  • Support design reviews and contribute creative ideas to project solutions

Ideal Candidate

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or related field
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, with a portfolio demonstrating relevant project work
  • Interest or experience in small-to-medium scale residential projects
  • Understanding of UK planning processes and building regulations advantageous
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and eager to develop within a growing design team
